Dear RMH Families:
On behalf of the RMH Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA), I hope you are having had a wonderful, relaxing summer break
The summer has been a busy, exciting time for the RMH! As the kids walked out of school in May, the construction team moved in and started a massive renovation. We are all excited to see the changes! Outside of the school building the PTA Board has planning programs and activities for the upcoming school year. All PTA-related event and activity details can be found on our website (www.rmhpta.org) which is updated on a regular basis throughout the year. In addition, we ask that you please "Like" us on Facebook (RMH PTA) and/or "Follow" us on Twitter(@RMHPTA) to make sure you receive up-to-date and late breaking information on activities and events related to our RMH community.
A few events have already been planned so please make a note of the following dates:

The PTA Board also encourages all families to join the PTA at an annual cost of only $10 per individual. Support from our PTA membership has funded - among other things - assemblies & enrichment programs, RMH community functions, field trips, teacher appreciation lunches and gifts, and S.T.E.M kits for the school..
We are always in need of volunteers to make our events as successful as possible. We provide numerous opportunities to get involved which can accommodate everyone’s schedules, so please consider getting involved this year! To volunteer please log into the PTA website and go to the volunteers tab to sign up.
This will be my first year as PTA President. I am looking forward to a very exciting and fruitful school year. I hope to meet many of you throughout the year as we work together to help strengthen our school community and learning opportunities for our children.
RMH PTA is selling schoolsupplies for the upcoming school year.
If you order by Thurs., 8/17 your student(s) supplies will be delivered to the classroom by meet the teacher. Subsequent orders will be delivered to the classrooms as early as our volunteers can arrange. There will be no orders processed after the first week of school.
The Plano ISD Parent Portal provides direct access to our Parent Viewer information (grades/attendance) and serves as the primary resource for all of the services provided online to our parents. This site gives you direct access into your child's classroom information, registration to your child's campus eNews, district-wide information and links to other often used services.
The PTA plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, educational experiences, field trips and of coarse social events. By volunteering at RMH you put your skills and hobbies to use for a great cause - our children.
We are excited to offer a full range of after-school programs this year. We have science programs, yoga, sports, dance, theater! We are bringing back many of the successful activities of past years. Hopefully your child will find something that sparks his or her interest! After-school programs provide our kids with the opportunity to make new friends, continue existing friendships in a casual and fun environment, and work with experienced and caring instructors to develop a new skill or interest. Haggar’s programs are convenient, well-designed, on-campus, and FUN.
All classes will start right after school starting on Tuesday Sept 5th. More detailed information flyers for each class may be found on the PTA website, https://rmhpta.membershiptoolkit.com/After-School. Registration and cost information can be found on each flyer and usually will be done through that program’s website, except for programs run by our teachers like Yoga, Creative Thinking and Rubik’s. For these programs registration will be completed through www.rmhpta.org PTA Store. Sign up begins August 1st. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Sharmeen Jilla at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Reflections: Within Reach
Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for nearly 50 years. Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.
With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.
Started in 1969 by Mary Lou Anderson, then Colorado PTA President, Reflections has grown to be one of the largest nationwide programs of its kind, with more than 200,000 students participating annually.
We are one of only 117 North Texas schools to participate in this program! We are a School - In Training, which means through The Cooper Institute and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, we receive monetary help for P. E. /Fitness equipment, as well as items for our Cafeteria, Nurse, and Counselor to help maintain our HealthyZone School title! Visit HealthyZoneSchool.org to learn more, or search for #HealthyZone if you have a Twitter accountfor current happenings!

Stop by the courtesy booth at our local Tom Thumb (Frankford & Preston) and ask them for a Good Neighbor Form. The form can also be found on the RMH PTA website and turned into school front office in PTA box. Use this form to link your Reward card to the RMH PTA, Charity #3060. Each time you present your Reward card, we get 1% of your purchase for our PTA.
Link your Kroger Plus card so our PTA can receive a donation. Go to Kroger's Community Rewards Program to sign-in or create an account at the Kroger Community Rewards page and select our school (Rose Mary Haggar). The Kroger Plus card has to be linked each program year (July-April) and your card will be linked to RMH PTA. Our PTA receives a percentage of Kroger's $1,000,000 donation based on our purchases.
Shop thru the Heart
SUPPORT RMH & SUPPORT PISD
As a way to cover expenses that we have traditionally passed along to local PTAs, the general Council membership (Council Board, PTA Presidents, School Principals) voted to initiateShop Thru the Heart participation at the November meeting in 2016. Funds raised through this program are not for the Council of PTAs, but for all PTAs. It is a simple and impactful way for us to get donations with online shopping that we already do every day.
This program provides double support since RMH participates in Amazon Smiles. Registered participants can Shop Thru the Heart using Amazon Smiles and accumulate dollars for both programs!
Be a part of diverting thousands of pounds of shoes and clothing from local landfills by filling the Community Storehouse shoes and clothing donation bin on our campus with your gently used shoes, clothing, purses, belts, wallets, hats, caps, backpacks, hard toys, stuffed animals and pots and pans. Community Storehouse receives payment for every pound collected from you. You know our organization as first responders to any issues that threaten to interfere with the success in school of the children who live in the Northwest Tarrant County community. The benefit to you? Neater closets, drawers, toy boxes, and kitchens, and the knowledge that less textile waste will end up in our local landfills.
The Big Blue donation bin is located on the south side of the school by the teachers’ parking lot.
Is your family new to the school? Contact the PTA and we will connect you with a family that already attends Haggar.
